At a young age, Cody Wilson knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps as a firefighter. “It’s in my blood.” Cody has now been a firefighter for 10 years, and he enjoys it just as much as he did on his first day on the job. “I am thankful I am in a situation and position to help.” Cody has been with La Vergne Fire Department for 5 years -- he has been a Lieutenant for 2 years and recently became a certified fire inspector. Cody lives in Lascassas with his wife, Whitney and his 2-year-old son, Jack David. He and Whitney both have a soft spot in their hearts for kids. She teaches kindergarten, and he says the best part of his job is passing out presents to the kids at Christmas. "We just enjoy helping," said Cody. The couple has also made it a goal to teach their son the importance of helping others in need. The city of La Vergne would like to thank Lieutenant Cody Wilson for his service.
