[ARCHIVED] Surplus City Property Auctioned Online

An auction is underway in La Vergne as they city disposes of surplus property on GOV DEALS, an online auction site used by government agencies. The 13 items include vehicles from police seizures and items from the library. You can bid from now until the auctions close at 3:00 p.m. (Central time) on Thursday, August 25.

"Several items being auctioned are vehicles awarded to the city from the courts," said City Administrator Bruce Richardson. "The city has no need for these vehicles and equipment, so this is a convenient way to dispose of items that we no longer need."

Buyers can bid on surplus city assets after registering at and logging in. Like other online auction sites, the items are available for a specific period of time. The highest bidder will win unless the auction reserve has not been met. Payment may now be made online through the GovDeals website.

Proceeds from the auction will be returned either to the drug fund if they were drug seizures or back to the city general fund.
