The annual La Vergne Old Timers' Festival is an amazing blend of mixing old traditions with new ones. The festival features an array of old fashioned demonstrations like a blacksmith display, basket weaving, spinning and weaving. There are also new crafts for sale from local and regional vendors.

The City of La Vergne and its Parks and Recreation Department are excited to announce the 46th annual Old Timers’ Festival will be held on October 5, 2019 at Veterans Memorial Park, 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive. Located in Rutherford County, just 20 minutes southeast of Nashville, Old Timers’ Festival gives folks a way to peak back into the past and see what came before.

Festivities get underway at 10:00 a.m. which is when the traditional Old Timers’ Parade starts at City Hall. The parade route will travel along the westbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road and turn left on Floyd Mayfield Drive before ending at Veterans Memorial Park. The westbound lanes of Murfreesboro Road will be shut down starting at 9:30 a.m. and will reopen once the parade has concluded. This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Toni Craddock, a long time city police department employee who spent years organizing the Christmas for Children and Seniors program.

This year’s live music will begin at noon with rock-and-roll band The Planet Rockers, country artist 8 Ball Aitken will perform at 2:00 p.m. and country rockers Raelyn Nelson Band will headline at 4:00 p.m.

The kids zone will have a petting zoo and carousel pony rides. There will also be bounce houses, lawn games, face painting and a balloon artist.

The trail at the park will have more than 60 vendors including arts and crafts, civic groups, and businesses. For 2019 we're excited to have antique cars along with tractor display thanks to our sponsor L&L Equipment. There will also be an old locomotive steam engine, a baseball historian, Donnie Fergus will be cooking white beans, and MTEMC is bringing their demonstration trailer.

Special thanks to our sponsors: (Platinum) Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Griggs & Maloney, Inc., L&L Equipment Sales and Inframark, (Diamond) TDS Telecom, (Ruby) Pool Pros, (Gold) Humana and United Rentals, (Silver) Allvan USA, Inc. and Planet Fitness, and (Bronze) Hilton Garden
