[ARCHIVED] ‘Project Bear’ announcement officially brings The ICEE Company to La Vergne

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce announced that The ICEE Company was the driving force behind the secretive ‘Project Bear’ that has been circulating since talks first began late last year.

“We are so excited to welcome ICEE to La Vergne,” says Mayor Jason Cole. “This will be an amazing partnership moving forward bringing quality jobs to La Vergne. Having a great company like ICEE headquartered in La Vergne shows we are a business-friendly city on the move.”

The ICEE Company is moving into a facility at the Park 24 Development at Mason Road and Bain Drive, bringing more than 200 headquarter and distribution jobs with an average income of $60,000. The ICEE Company expects to officially open and begin operations in January 2020.

The City has also been working closely with the developer, Panttoni Development Company, to help make improvements to Mason Road and Bain Drive as they develop Park 24.

Several city employees worked with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce make 'Project Bear’ a reality including Economic Development Specialist Tom Broeker, City Administrator Bruce Richardson and Director of Engineering Adam Leach.
