Thousands of children will be visiting Veterans Memorial Park in La Vergne for the ton of candy being handed out at the Trail of Treats on Saturday, October 28 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Following Trail of Treats, the movie Monster House will be shown "Drive-In" movie style at 6:30 p.m.
The annual candy trail is a favorite event sponsored by the city and includes pumpkin bounce races, games, and a hike through the park to “trick or treat” from local organizations and businesses. Booths are decorated with a family-friendly Halloween theme and sponsors may hand out everything from candy to goo-goo clusters, as well as games set up for children to play.
“If the weather holds out, we will see thousands of children and their families during Trail of Treats,” said A.C. Davis, Parks & Recreation Director. “Children and adults and entire families – everyone dresses up. This is a very enjoyable event for our city and it’s a wonderful way for people who live and play in La Vergne to come together as a community.”
The entire event is free to the public. For information about signing up to hand out candy, contact Parks & Recreation at (615) 793-3224.
