The Citizen of the Year award was started in 2019 as a way for citizens to be recognized for their contributions and volunteerism for the community of La Vergne.
Citizen of the Year 2023 - Tammy Sands and John Oakley

You have imparted not just instruction in martial arts, but wisdom, discipline, and respect to your students. The City recognizes your dedication and commitment to helping them excel in their personal lives and in their academic careers. You are helping to grow the next generation of men and women to lead our community.”
Citizen of the Year 2022 - Aubrey Jackson
