Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL)

The La Vergne Public Library offers its patrons access to the Tennessee Electronic Library. The Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL) is a collection of 33 databases that provide access to over 400,000 magazines, newspapers, essays, podcasts, videos, e-books, primary source materials, and more!  Access Tennessee Electronic Library.


ABCmouse

The award-winning ABCmouse.com curriculum is designed to help young children (ages 2-6+) build a strong foundation for future academic success. ABCmouse.com (from Age of Learning, Incorporated) is 100% educational, with 3,500+ learning activities across all major subject areas-reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music. Best of all, kids love it! ABCmouse.com is available on the computers in the children's area at no cost to our patrons.


HeritageQuest Online

Ancestry.com Library Edition

Ancestry.com provides access to billions of historical documents, millions of historical photos, plus local narratives, oral histories, indexes and other resources in over 30,000 databases that span from the 1500s to the 2000s. Ancestry Library Edition offers a vast resource of collections, and a comprehensive research experience combining advanced search technology and image viewing of original documents on Ancestry.com. Ancestry Library Edition is available on computers within the library at no cost to our patrons.


Google Virtual Tour

The La Vergne Public Library now offers a virtual tour via Google. Access the Google Virtual Tour.


Tennessee Records

Many historic Tennessee records, including birth, death, and tax lists are available online from TEL through a partnership with Ancestry.com. While other Ancestry.com resources require a subscription; these records are free for Tennesseans. Watch this video for more info on creating a guest account.  Access Tennessee Records.


Transparent Language

Transparent Language is an online language learning program that can be accessed through the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL).Learn over 110 different languages with Transparent Language Online. You can learn English from 30 different languages. Lessons for kids too! 


Additional Databases

The La Vergne Public Library provides searches of the card catalog online.

The library is now offering the following databases free to our patrons. They can be accessed on the library computers, or at home from the library’s website. To access them from home, you may need to log-in with your library card number.
